Voltaic’s national telecom-power programme has passed 3,400 base-station sites, delivering solar-diesel hybrid power and round-the-clock remote monitoring to one of Nigeria’s largest mobile network operators.
38% less diesel, 99.98% uptime
Across the estate, hybrid controllers and rectifier upgrades have cut diesel consumption by an average of 38% while holding contracted uptime of 99.98%. A central operations centre watches every site in real time, dispatching field crews before an outage can reach the network.
“Voltaic took thousands of sites off unreliable diesel without a single day of network downtime,” said the operator’s Head of Network Operations. “They execute at a standard we normally only see from international firms.”
The road ahead
The programme now moves to its next phase: extending hybrid power to the remaining sites and piloting lithium battery storage to push diesel runtime down further. It is a template Voltaic is ready to replicate for operators across the region.
